Many people wonder about the difference between psychotherapy, coaching, consultation and mentoring. Therapy deals with healing pain, dysfunction and conflict with a focus on resolving psychologican and emotional issues. Consultation involves a professional diagnosing and prescribing and sometimes implementing solutions.Mentoring happens when someone provides wisdom and ongoing guidance based on his or her experience.

Coaching supports growth based on self-initiated change looking for specific actionable outcomes. It is future-focused with the emphases on action, accountability, and follow through. In coaching the objective are set by the individual. The assumption is that individuals are capable of generating their own solutions, with the coach supplying supportive, discovery-based approaches and frameworks. The coaching process does not include advising or counseling, and focuses instead o individuals setting and reaching their own objectives. With professional coaching, the focus is on identifying opportunity for development based on an individual’s strengths and capabilities.

Working With Lynda
Lynda works with people of all ages who are considering making important changes in their lives with their health, overall wellness, relationships, finances, careers, creating next adventures or for their next phase of life. Lynda helps clients clarify what is most important in their lives right now and helps them bridge the gap between their current reality and their future vision. While working with Lynda, each client becomes a specialist in removing or navigating around obstacles in a comfortable way that brings them success in celebrating new possibilities.

Reaching Your Goals With Surprising Transformation

Individual Sessions

One-on-one coaching sessions meet weekly for 45 minutes on the phone or in person. Between sessions Lynda is available for check-ins via email and texts. The most popular program is the 3-month/12-session plan. Sometimes individuals choose a single session to clarify their thoughts and options to kick-start coaching with Lynda.  


Group  Sessions

Group Coaching sessions are limited to 4 enrollees and are offered in 4- session packages. Sessions meet weekly for 45-60 minutes via phone conference call or in person.  With other group members, clients work together with Lynda to set and discuss common goals. Between sessions partners are encouraged to stay in contact with each other.  The most popular program is the 4-session pack which is renewable for as long as the group wishes to remain together. Limited to 4 participants.



Kid's Sessions

Kid’s Coaching sessions are becoming more popular—with or without a parent listening-in.  Sessions meet weekly for 30-45 minutes via phone conference or teleconference.  The session duration depends upon the child’s attention span. Lynda works with the child to help set and meet his or her goals.  Kid’s Coaching is offered in 4-session packages that are renewable.       



Healthcare Plan Assistance Programs

Your patients understand what they need to do to be healthier, but for some reason they may not able to follow through on your recommendations completely. For many you see little change happening between office visits.  Perhaps it is their lifestyle choices that seem to interfere.  Would a health and wellness coach who continues to support and find ways to inspire your patients help them to stay on track better?  Lynda is able to provide the time, support and education that your busy office schedule and staff may not have for the extra care your patients need.
